Hello ALDers!
The academic committee has been hard at work putting together an elite list of professors on campus that have agreed to deliver an extra special lecture to you. These great professors have taken time out of their busy schedules for this special opportunity; let's show them what ALD is really about. Anyone is welcome to attend, so feel free to bring your roommate or your friend. And if you haven't been inducted yet, this is a great way to get a sneak-peek on what being in ALD can mean!
This Wednesday will feature Dr. Ron Sabatelli of the HDFS Department at 8pm in CUE 134. Come check out what he has to say!
The rest of the list is as follows:
February 9th @ 7pm - Dr. David Miller, Psychology - CUE 134
February 17th @ 7pm - Brad Wright, Sociology - Location TBD
February 24th @ 5pm - Dr. Roger Travis, Classical and Ancient Mediterranean Studies - CUE 134
March 15th @ 8pm - Kathleen McLaughlin, Statistics - CUE 134
March 23rd @ 4pm - Patty Szarek, Honors Program - CUE 134
March 31st @ 8pm - Dr. Jill Deans, Office of National Scholarships - CUE 134

Congratulations New Invitees!
It's that time of year again: the end of the Fall semester. A new group of potential ALD members have been invited, and we couldn't be more proud. This year, 1,107 students were eligible based on their achievement of a 3.5 GPA or higher. We are eagerly anticipating meeting the new members at this spring's induction ceremony. The induction ceremony (as you veteran members may recall) is a welcoming into Alpha Lambda Delta. Members are recognized by name, and given an official member certificate commemorating their success. This year's induction ceremony will be Thursday, February 25th at 5:00PM in the Rome Ballroom in South Campus Building D. Prior to the ceremony, a reception with music and refreshments will be held starting at 4:30PM, also in the Rome Ballroom. Family and friends are more than welcome to accompany inductees to the reception and the ceremony.

Also, we will be selling ALD t-shirts at induction if anyone is interested...
Welcome, new members, and congratulations. Be sure to check out our new website if you have any questions related to ALD: http://homepages.uconn.edu/~ald
